The function of Park Gear should be based around five main areas: Maps & Navigation, Info & Messages, Pictures & Sharing, Geocaching & Games, and Tools & Resources. The three different Park Gear models focus on different areas: a “Trekker” model (red) focuses on Maps & Navigation and Tools & Resources; a “Ranger” model (green) focuses on Information & Messages; an “Explorer” model (yellow) focuses on Pictures & Sharing and Geocaching & Games. All models support the mission of the park by providing tools for recreational fulfillment, opportunities for education, and information that helps foster responsibility within the park.
